Intelligent agents and AI-powered cognitive content solutions perform best with machine-ready content—intelligent content designed to be read by humans and processed by computers. To deliver the right answer to prospects and customers who have questions, you’ll need to optimize your content production approaches and begin crafting content with the precision humans appreciate, and machines require. The path to intelligent microcontent is the next step in our journey in structured authoring. Microcontent will open up new channels for our content while improving delivery across existing channels.
Attend this session to better understand the need for intelligent microcontent and its applicability to chatbots, voice interfaces, and intelligent agents. We will explore (a) impact of microcontent and focus on smarter, richer, compact content; (b) the importance of standardized metadata and classification; and (c) use of information typing to support intended reader response.

With new demands of just-in-time delivery, voice interactivity, and artificial intelligence we need to take DITA to the next level of precision. Emerging channels require smaller, more precise units of content for delivery as intelligent microcontent. This 90-minute workshop discusses the concepts, capabilities, and design considerations for developing a microcontent strategy.
Join us for this session where we will (a) review the principles of intelligent microcontent, (b) explore publishing capabilities with DITA and microcontent, (c) examine new structures and specializations in DITA to support microcontent, and (d) discuss practical writing techniques to enable microcontent.
SPEAKER: Rob Hanna
Rob Hanna co-founded Precision Content in 2013 to change the way writers approach structured authoring. Having spent more than decade helping organizations move to component content management he realized that organizations need to take a step beyond technology and expert consultants. Without fostering the necessary standards and skills to work in this new media, organizations would continue to stall in their attempt to move to structured authoring. With this knowledge, he developed the Precision Content® methods, tools, and training. Today, Rob and his team of experts help Precision Content clients make the move to structured authoring as seamless as possible.
